From the Brand: Alice is inspired by Alice Ball, the first African-American to graduate from the University of Hawai’i and the first woman to earn a master’s degree in Chemistry. Among her accomplishments, Alice developed an effective method of treatment for Hansen’s disease, which was used to treat patients at the Kalaupapa colony on Moloka’i. A proclamation was recently signed honoring her legacy in the State of Hawai’i.
